Ordering with us is as safe as it is easy. Our software ensures the security of your information by transmitting all sensitive information using a state-of-the-art Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) from Comodo, which encrypts the information you input during your transaction. Your connection with us is secure and private, but SSL technology assures that, even if your information is intercepted, it cannot be viewed. When placing your order on our secure site, you are given the option to store your information to make future purchases faster and easier, or to place your order without storing your personal billing information. If you choose not to store your billing information, we will still have a record that you ordered from us (so you can retrieve your order history or return items), but your personal billing information will not be stored. If you are placing your order over the phone, please note that we do not store any credit card information when taking a phone order. Once received, any information kept is encrypted in our secure database, but please note that, for your protection, we do not store all of your information. Speedgoat Bicycles does not sell or distribute our customers' information. Your information will not be made available to any outside companies, organizations, or individuals outside of the necessary information provided to shipping companies and credit card processing companies, and any restrictions required by law. In addition to our secure ordering system, ensuring your privacy is built into our procedures. Access to even basic customer information is limited to authorized personnel, and even your pricing information and order history are regarded as your private information. Within our company, your information is used for completing and delivering orders, ensuring customer service and order-related communication, and improving our product assortment and site functionality. We have strong feelings about unsolicited email, and do not engage in "mass mailing" practices; we will only send notifications to all customers in the event that a change in our technology or policies suggests this to be necessary. Speedgoat Bicycles is an authorized retailer for the products we sell. This status offers the advantage of full applicable warranty, guarantee of product authenticity, and a knowledge and understanding of the product. Requirements associated with authorized status vary from brand to brand, but include:
  • Proper quality check and assembly of complete bicycles
  • Warranty center status and the ability to accept RMA request
  • Knowledge, service, and support of the brands we sell
  • Proper packaging and product instructions as provided by the manufacturer are included with each purchase
  • Training and service center status
  • Accurate representation of products with clear indications of any "OE" (original equipment) or unpackaged special buys and no attempts to obscure model year details of our products
  • Accurate representation of our brand and services; we do not do business under any other names or sell through auction sites
  • Accountability and integrity in our business practices

Currently, only Shimano has issued a seal of authorization for retailers to display. As additional manufacturers create similar seals, we will include them below.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards. Debit cards are welcome, but please note that many debit cards often require you to confirm larger purchases with your issuing bank in advance to avoid exceeding your card's daily transaction limit. We accept purchase orders from government, educational, and private institutions and corporations. All purchase orders are subject to credit approval. The listed "usually ready to ship in" lead time tells you when your order will leave Speedgoat. Your order will be ready to ship based on the slowest moving item on your order. An order with two items, one listed as shipping in 1-2 business days, and one listed as shipping in 3-4 business days, will ship from Speedgoat in 3-4 business days. We strive to combine the largest inventory with the fastest delivery and to help you accurately calculate the delivery time of your items. To offer you the largest selection of products at the best prices possible, our proprietary technology links our multiple inventory locations with the warehouses of our suppliers and reports lead times on all products. Lead times include any time it takes for us to move an item from one or more of our suppliers' warehouse locations, package the item, and get it on the way to you. These lead times can be found below the price of the item, as seen in this example.

Cut-off Times for Shipping and Order Preparation:
Orders received after 2:00pm Central will enter our system the following business day.

In addition to our posted lead times, our availability codes offer a snapshot of the real time availability of thousands of product not just at Speedgoat, but on the shelves of the largest suppliers in the United States. While availability changes every second of the day for the thousands of items that we offer, and there is a chance that an item will become unavailable before your order is processed, our availability codes offer a simple way to determine the availability of an item. Our synchronized warehousing system lets us bring you the widest range of products as quickly as possible, at the best possible prices.


Items displaying a full green availability code have good stock levels at Speedgoat or our primary suppliers. While it is possible for these items to sell through quickly,--especially if these are popular items--a green status does indicate good supply at the time it is displayed.


Items displaying a yellow availability code are available at Speedgoat or our primary suppliers, but quantities are very limited.


Items displaying a red code are in extremely limited supply and are likely to sell out. A red code often indicates only a single item left on the shelves at Speedgoat or one of our suppliers. could sell out at any moment.

In addition to the availability listings of our standard products, we separately specify closeout items, special order items, backordered items, and items for which we recommend contacting us prior to placing an order.

  • Closeout Items:
    Closeout items can be discontinued items, items that are being replaced with a newer model, or overstocks. Items listed as “closeout” are in stock in very limited quantities and may run out at any time. Given the limited quantities and pace of sell-through for these items, they are subject to prior sale, which means it is possible for a closeout item to sell out before your order can be processed. You will not be billed for a closeout item until we have verified fulfillment of your order.

  • Special Orders:
    We pride ourselves on offering you the widest selection of products from the best brands, and our web site displays the real-time inventory availability of products in our warehouses and those of our trusted suppliers to help you better calculate the delivery time of your order. In offering you the widest selection of items possible we recognize that often we must include small service parts and items for which the supplier is unwilling or unable to provide inventory reporting. This includes all items offered in “custom” configurations or more options than can be matched to part numbers, unique service and maintenance parts, and items not shown on our site but made available for you as a custom ordered item by a Speedgoat sales associate. Whenever possible, we are happy to help you try to find small items or service parts. While we are happy to special order these items for you, we cannot offer you accurate availability at the manufacturer or estimated delivery times. These items may require additional time to arrive here at Speedgoat. The following policies apply to all Special Order items:

    1. Payment in full is required to initiate procurement of Special Order items.
    2. Special Orders can not be canceled. Please feel free to consult with us regarding availability of items prior to placing an order.
    3. Special Order items can not be deleted from orders.
    4. Minimum order total for any order containing Special Order items is $199.00.
    5. Orders containing Special Order items may not be returned, unless the product is defective, in which case the item may be returned for exchange of product.
    6. Final shipping weights and costs of orders containing Special Order items are subject to review and must be verified prior to shipping.
    7. Special Order status is extended to all items made available through a custom shopping cart created for you by a sales associate.

  • Backorders:
    Items listed as having a "Backorder" status are not only unavailable at Speedgoat, but are also unavailable at our suppliers. Items displaying a "Backorder" status may not be added to a shopping cart. If you would like to be notified when an item again becomes available, you may click on the "Notify Me When Available" link displayed on all "Backorder" status items and enter your email address to receive an instant email notification when a "Backorder" status item is back in stock at Speedgoat or the inventory of our suppliers.

  • Contact Us For Availability:
    Items that request you contact us for availability may require additional sales assistance. These items are generally not in stock, and are offered by manufacturers that do not provide us with accurate inventory information or change small aspects of their products frequently. These items may also feature customization a large number of options, or many different possible configurations.

  • Availability of Custom Items:
    Items included as part of a custom package require additional time to be sourced and/or assembled before they can be shipped. These items include:

    • Custom-built bicycles
    • Complete bicycles
    • Custom-built wheelsets
    • Parts kit and group packages

    Frames and framesets are quality checked and prepped prior to packaging and shipping. Custom-built wheelsets and bicycle builds are queued in the order received. Please feel free to contact us at sales@speedgoat.com, or 888-545-4628 for personal attention regarding your custom order.

  • Items That Do Not Require Shipping:
    Gift certificates and other electronically generated items do not require shipping. Though we do not ship these items, we are happy to mail a gift certificate to your recipient at no charge. To take advantage of this service, please contact us, and we will be happy to assist you with your personalized gift certificate order.


  • Ground Shipping Only Items:
    Items designated with the following "red truck" icon:
     This item can only be shipped by ground
    are restricted from shipping using any expedited method. These items are usually restricted from air travel based on their weight, their overall dimensions, or include pressurized contents or materials not permitted on aircraft.

    Orders containing one or more of these items must ship via a ground delivery service.


  • Restricted from Export Items:
    Some items are designated with a specific disclaimer listing those countries to which we are not permitted to ship the item with the following "U.S. shipping only" icon:
     The manufacturer of this item does not permit products to be exported outside of the United States
    These items restricted from shipping to destinations outside the United States by their manufacturers. Please contact the manufacturer if you have questions about these policies or would like to purchase one of their products.

Our goal is to offer you the best possible price while still offering you the finest service and most thorough knowledge in the industry. With the help of your contributions, we maintain a comprehensive database of competitor's prices. Should you find a lower price on an item, just let us know that price, and our automatic price match system will attempt to match or beat that price. We're proud to match a competitor's price while still giving you the customer service you deserve.

Items eligible for a price match submission display the “Instant Price Match” button below their listed price. Our price match system offers the lowest prices we can make available for individual items, and all requests must be submitted using our on-line price match system.

Requesting an Instant Price Match:
  • Our Instant Price Match option appears as a button on any product eligible for a price reduction. If multiple colors or sizes are offered, you must select a specific item before the Instant Price Match button can appear.
  • Let us know the name of the competitor, and the price you are requesting we match.
  • Our price matching system will evaluate your request and reply with a response in five seconds or less.
  • If your request is approved, you will be given the option to add the item to your shopping cart. You will be able to continue shopping and check out at your convenience with your discounted items.

Our Price Match Policy:
  • All price match requests must be submitted using the automatic price match system on our web site. We can not accept email or phone call price match requests for individual items.
  • The competitor's item must be identical to the model we are offering, and must be new. We can not price match OE, refurbished, or used items. Please remember to check the model and year of the product.
  • The competitor must be an authorized retailer for the product for which the request is submitted. Requests to match unauthorized retailers (auction sites, individual sellers, and other sellers unable to offer advice, service, warranty help, or post-sale support) are not traditionally accepted.
  • Our policy of free shipping for orders over $199.00 shipping within the Continental U.S. will be considered when evaluating your request. Orders containing price matched items must still total $199.00 or more to receive free shipping within the Continental United States.
  • The requested price match price for an item becomes the exclusive discount for that item and cannot be combined with active promotions or additional discounts. Sale and special promotion items are not eligible for price matches.
  • We offer this service as a means to allow you to receive the lowest possible price we can offer on competitively sold items; we do not guarantee your request will be accepted or that we will always be able to beat every competitor's price.
  • Price match requests must be made in advance of an order and are not retroactive.

Above all else we value your security and your privacy. For your security and the security of all on-line shoppers, all orders placed through Speedgoat.com are subject to our rigorous verification process. In order to guard against fraudulent activity, we verify the information required to ensure the validity of all credit cards. Should you choose to store data with us, we store only the personal data necessary as a convenience to you. We do not store the full information associated with your credit card. We employ industry standard encryption for the data we do store. Due to our strict verification process, please be sure to provide your exact billing address and phone number (this is the address and phone number your credit card bank has on file), as inaccurate information may cause a delay in the processing time of your order.

Your bank also has security measures in place, and to ensure the prompt processing and shipment of your orders, we recommend familiarizing yourself with these measures. If you are considering a significant purchase, and your shipping address is different from your billing address (the address where you receive your credit card statement), we recommend contacting your issuing bank to make them aware of the shipping address you are using. Informing your credit card bank about your shipping address will not change any existing billing information; it will be temporarily listed in the bank's memo field for purchase verification only. Many banks also impose daily transaction limits that require your order payment to be divided into daily payments. Given our dedicated to personal attention, we are happy to work with you to ensure as simple and efficient a payment process as possible for your specific transaction.

Back to Index  Credit Card Authorization and Payment:
When you place an order with us, your credit card is authorized for the order total. Authorization verifies the availability of the funds in your account and places a hold on those funds to ensure that your payment will be able to be collected when your order is ready to ship. At the point at which an invoice has been generated for your order and your order is ready to ship, the funds initially authorized are then collected. Even if we have authorized your payment, your funds are not transferred to us until this second collection process.

If your card is declined, we have not collected any funds. Some possible reasons for decline include:
  • Entering incorrect credit card details (please check your information)
  • Insufficient funds on that particular credit card (please verify your funds with the issuing bank)
  • Using a proxy server or encountering purchase restriction filters at work (we can be reached for orders at 888-545-4628)
  • Our rigorous security measures (in order to protect you, we require exact matches on key information, and it is possible for a legitimate order to be refused in this process)

Back to Index  What Happens After I Place an Order?
Immediately after the completion of your order with us, an order confirmation page will be displayed for your reference, and a confirmation, including your order number, will be emailed to you. If you have not received an email confirmation within three hours of your order, please check the accuracy of the email address you have entered for your Speedgoat account, and verify that your confirmation has not been intercepted by a mail filter on your email program. If you have verified the accuracy of your email address and have not received a confirmation email, please feel free to contact our Orders department at orders@speedgoat.com. Once received, your order is prepared, processed, and shipped. Preparation of your order consists of compiling the necessary items for the order, and scanning the order to prepare it for processing. You can track the status of your order on the Order Status page.

The Stages of Your Order:
A submitted order moves through four stages:
  • Submitted - placed and received by Speedgoat, open for changes and cancellations
  • Prepared - cannot be changed or canceled, compiled and scanned by one or more warehouses here and/or at our suppliers and in progress
  • Processed - invoiced with final payment collected, and the ready order is packaged for shipment, closed for edits or cancellations
  • Shipped - in transit to your destination or Partially Shipped - the first of multiple shipments are in transit to you

Processing of your order occurs once all items on your order are compiled and scanned. Orders are compiled and scanned according to the specific lead times of the items they contain. More information about lead times is available in our Lead Times of Items section. While most orders ship the same day all items are ready to ship, please allow one business day for us to process your order prior to shipping. Order processing requires us to pay a credit card processing fee to our processor. For this reason, any cancellation of a processed order, regardless of the shipping status of the order, will incur a minimum 5% processing fee.

Back to Index  Changing or Canceling an Order:
An order can be changed or canceled until the point at which it is compiled and scanned for shipment and its status becomes "Prepared." The majority of our orders are compiled and scanned within two hours of being received. Once compiled and scanned through our system, an order can not be changed or canceled. Our sales staff does not have direct access to edit or cancel an order beyond this point. For your convenience, the fastest and easiest way to inquire about an order change or cancellation is to simply reply to the order confirmation email sent to you at the time of your order or to email orders@speedgoat.com. Because we receive orders 24-hours a day and seven days a week, change and cancellation emails are generally faster and more reliable than phone calls. If your order has not yet been scanned, we will be happy to assist you in canceling or making changes to, an order.

Back to Index  Unexpected Order Delays:
We display lead time and availability information for each item we offer, including any lead time it takes for us to move that item from one of our or our suppliers' warehouse locations, package the item, and ready it to ship. In the event that an item is unable to leave us within the lead time we have listed for that item, plus our standard processing time of one to two business days, we reserve the right to ship the remainder of your order in advance, and notify you of the revised status of the unexpectedly delayed item. Orders which had originally been eligible to receive free shipping when including the unexpectedly delayed item, will receive free shipping without the item. Alternately, if your order is found to contain items that have become unexpectedly unavailable, we reserve the right to contact you prior to shipping any portion of your order, and consult with you as to your preferred shipping method.

Though we have taken steps far exceeding most retailers to ensure continual availability of the products we offer, the volatility of the products themselves (some from very small manufacturers with no actual inventory systems and produced in extremely small quantities) do make it possible for us to encounter unexpected delays. We feel strongly that direct, personal communication with our customers is the best policy for managing these instances.

Order Acceptance and Limitations:
An order confirmation email does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of an offer to sell. Speedgoat reserves the right to place an order on hold pending further credit card verification or to decline and cancel an order. Given the popularity and shortage of some items, we may at times have to restrict the quantity of a particular item that can be ordered per customer. If for any reason we are unable to accommodate your order, you will be contacted.

If not already logged in, you will be prompted to enter your email address and password to log in and view the status of all existing and previous orders.

To ensure as fast and accurate a delivery as possible, please:

  • Determining expedited shipping - shipping times of 1, 2 or 3 business days begin after the day the item ships; shippers like FedEx and UPS do not include the day the item is picked up
  • Weekends and holidays - weekends and holidays add additional days to shipments; packages are only transported by FedEx and UPS on regular business days; there is no delivery on Saturday, Sunday or holidays
  • Leaving items at your door - we do not recommend leaving items outside your home, and FedEx requires a signature for packages valued at $500 and higher, regardless of what we specify
  • Use a current and accurate shipping address when ordering - a fee of $10 is charged when rerouting a package to a different address
  • Do not ship to a PO box - FedEx does not deliver to Post Office boxes, and an additional shipping fee is required for reshipping a package
  • Note the time of your order - orders placed after 6:30pm Eastern will be received the following business day
  • Expedited orders are not exempt from lead times - even 1, 2 and 3-day expedited shipments will still leave us according to the lead time of the slowest item on the order
  • Orders that require prep - please allow 24-48-hours for frames and items that require service or preparation prior to shipping; each frame we ship is inspected and prepped as necessary prior to shipping to you
  • How late do they deliver? - FedEx delivers packages until approximately 7:00pm

Speedgoat ships to most countries around the world and to our military's Army Post Office (APO) locations in the Americas, Europe, and the Pacific. Shipments within the Continental U.S. are delivered by FedEx. International shipments may ship using a FedEx International Ground or Express service or a USPS International service. Services available for international shipping vary by destination; not all services are available for all destinations.

Standard domestic delivery options (all services are not available to all locations):


The standard default shipping method for orders receiving free Speedgoat shipping is FedEx Ground. Free shipping is not available for orders shipping to destinations outside the United States.

Standard international delivery options (all services are not available to all destinations):

  • FedEx International Economy - standard shipping, usually reaches most major cities in most countries within 2-5 business days (additional time may be required when delivering outside of a metropolitan area)
  • FedEx International Ground - standard shipping available to Canada and Puerto Rico, usually arrives in 3-7 business days
  • FedEx International Priority - standard shipping, usually reaches most major cities in most countries within 1-3 business days (additional time may be required when delivering outside of a metropolitan area)
  • USPS Express Mail International (EMI) - standard shipping, usually reaches most major cities in most countries within 3-5 business days (additional time may be required when delivering outside of a metropolitan area)
  • USPS Parcel Post - this basic delivery method is recommended for larger packages going to APO destinations


Back to Index  Shipping Insurance:
Speedgoat insures all packages against shipping damage. While we take considerable steps when packaging your order to ensure its safe transit, we also take care to insure all shipments against any damage incurred during shipping. Please inspect all items carefully upon delivery. Any damages or defects must be noted immediately, and even defective items or those damaged in shipping are ineligible for return after 30 days. If your item is received in damaged condition, please contact us immediately, as a claim with our shipping provider must be made as soon as possible. Inspect the damaged item, but do not attempt to assemble or use it in any way. If you determine that your order has been damaged in shipping, it is critical that you do not proceed to use the product, as any product damage incurred due to the actions of a customer must necessarily supersede all warranty claims and will void eligibility for return. Please also preserve all packing materials and boxes to expedite the claim and replacement process. We will replace any item damaged in transit to you; in the event that the item damaged is determined to be unique and/or irreplaceable, you will be refunded for the product. In the event that a complete bicycle or other multi-part item (such as a wheelset) is received in damaged condition, Speedgoat will repair or replace any and all damaged elements of the multi-part item or replace the item completely, at our discretion; Speedgoat is responsible for all shipping fees associated with the return and replacement shipment of a damaged item, and when necessary a call tag will be issued, allowing you to return a damaged item at our expense or the expense of our shipping provider. Prices are subject to change at any time without notice. Due to the unpredictable nature of the market and the lack of clear information about the exact model and origin of products, we cannot offer price protection credits on merchandise previously purchased on our site and subsequently found at a lower price. To ensure you are receiving the lowest possible price at the time you place your order, we recommend you review our Instant Price Match system. Please rest assured that we are offering you, our valued customers, the best possible price we can based on our real-time cost for the merchandise at that time, but if our price for an item is lowered within 10-days or your order, you may contact us to request a store credit in the amount of the difference.

Back to Index  Taxes and Customs Fees:
Speedgoat.com will automatically charge and withhold the applicable sales tax for orders delivered to an address in the state of Illinois. We do not charge sales tax on orders with shipping addresses outside of Illinois. If your order is shipping to a destination within IL, your local sales tax rate will apply. Orders picked up at our Wood Dale facility are taxed are our local rate of 8.25%.

There is no sales tax on gift certificates or gift cards.

International shipments are generally subject to local import duties and taxes. We are not responsible for, nor can offer any specific advice regarding any duty and customs related fees that may be incurred during import of an item originating from the United States. For specific information, please consult with your local government import office.

Back to Index  Return and Exchange Policy:
Almost all items in new, unopened condition may be returned within 30-days of delivery. If your return has been caused by an error on our part, we will pay return shipping fees. If your return is necessitated by an error on our part, you may place a replacement order yourself, or request one be prepared for you by our Support Department. Damaged or warranty items may be exchanged; all other accepted returns will be issued a refund when returned to you, allowing you to place a replacement order without waiting for your return to be processed.

Return Policy:
Please inspect all items carefully upon receiving your order. If for any reason you are not satisfied with an item, the item appears to have been damaged in shipping, or the item does not match the item ordered on your sales receipt, it may be returned to us.

To be eligible for return, items must be in unused condition with no signs of installation or use, must be in original packaging complete with all materials, and must include an approved Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Returns that do not meet these criteria will not be accepted. Returns due to an error on the part of Speedgoat will be exchanged or refunded in full. In the event that the item you receive does not match the item ordered as a result of Speedgoat error, you will receive a shipping label or reimbursement to allow us to cover your expense returning the item to us. Shipping labels may be sent to you via email or mailed directly. In the event that your order was shipped outside the United States, or that for any reason a return label not available, we will reimburse your return expenses, provided your shipping method is approved with us in advance.

Returns for any reason outside of an error on the part of Speedgoat, warranty claim, or shipping damage, will be issued a standard 15% restocking fee, which covers processing, packaging, and labor costs, which are included in our prices. Shipping is also included in all orders of $199.00 or more shipped within the Continental United States. Please note that packages often enter and leave our possession promptly; we can retrieve an order for editing or cancellation until it is compiled and scanned for shipment, after which it can not longer be edited or canceled, but can still be returned. Speedgoat does not offer exchanges for returns not resulting from an error on our part, warranty claim, or damage in shipping.

Please ensure the item or items being returned directly match the item or items for which you requested return. Unfortunately, we can not accept return of items no purchased at Speedgoat. Please contact your place of purchase or manufacturer for assistance with items not purchased from us.

When your returned item is received and we have processed your return, we'll request a credit for you in the value of the item minus the restocking fee. Once an item is returned, please allow 5-7 business days for us to process your credit. We will request your credit with our processor within this time period; please allow an additional 3-7 days for your bank to process your refund once we have received approval from our processor. Our refund policy allows you to purchase the replacement item immediately and helps ensure more efficient processing of your refund. By providing a refund as opposed to an exchange, we offer you the ability to place a replacement order at your earliest convenience, without the added transit time for us to receive the initial item as a return before sending a replacement. Returns can only be credited to the card used to make the initial purchase. Though we will issue your credit promptly, please note that actual moment your refund is applied depends on your credit card company, and varies from 2-11 business days from the date we issue the credit. In the event that we are unable to issue a credit to the card used to place the order containing the item being returned, we reserve the right to issue a gift certificate in the same refund amount.

All product returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA). An RMA number must be issued within 30 calendar days after the date of delivery. Issued RMA authorizations are valid for 15 day. The issued approved RA number must be displayed legibly on the exterior of the box containing your return. Items returned without an approved RA number visibly displayed can not be accepted. Your refund will be issued to the credit card on file for the order once the item is received in the required condition. Return shipments lost in transit and not received by Speedgoat will not be replaced or refunded by Speedgoat, and the item being returned is considered the property and responsibility of the customer until received by Speedgoat in without use or damage. Damage to a return shipment received in transit back to Speedgoat is the responsibility of the shipper. We strong recommend using a traceable courier such as FedEx for return shipments.

Exchanges:
We do not make you wait to return an incorrect item resulting from an error on our part to us before you can order your replacement item. Please feel free to order the correct item at your convenience or request that an identical replacement order be made for you and sent to you by our Support Department. With your authorization, will be happy to create a replacement order for you. You will be temporarily billed for this replacement order, but will be refunded in full when we receive and process the order in which an error on our part occurred. Unless otherwise noted for oversized packages and/or international shipping destinations, shipping costs for return and replacement will be paid for by Speedgoat, though additional taxes and duties may apply.

Return Shipping and Call Tags:
If your return is the result of an error on the part of Speedgoat, your return shipping will be reimbursed. For returns within the Continental U.S., Speedgoat will send a call tag to you. This call tag will be sent to the email address on file for the order or shipped to you. If the shipping address on file for your order is outside the U.S. and a return is necessary as a result of Speedgoat error, a call tag can generally not be issued, but you will be contacted regarding the best method available for Speedgoat to cover your return shipping costs. Return shipping for warranty and defective items is not reimbursed, however, shipment of the repaired or replaced item to you will be paid for by Speedgoat, provided your warranty is approved, and the shipping address for the repair or replacement shipment is within the Continental United States. Replacement shipments for warranty or defective items shipped outside the Continental U.S. are not reimbursed.

Warranty Support & Shipping Damage Policies:
Warranty:
Items returned for warranty consideration are not assessed any restocking, processing or forwarding fees. The shipping charges required to return a warranty claim item to Speedgoat are the responsibility of the sender. Subsequent fees required to return the item to its manufacturer and back to Speedgoat are paid for by Speedgoat. Repaired or replaced warranty items are delivered to the original shipping address on file for the original order. Additional shipping fees required to return a warranty claim item to the owner may be required for the return of some products shipping within the Continental U.S. and will be required for all shipments with destinations outside of the Continental U.S. All attempts will be made to cover as much of your expense as possible in these cases; to minimize fees, Speedgoat returns warrantied shipments to International customers clearly labeled as "warranty return" and requests that warranty shipments be returned to us with the same consideration.

Please note that warranty consideration is ultimately the responsibility of the manufacturer of the product being returned, and Speedgoat is not responsible for the decisions and resolution process determined by the manufacturer. Most manufacturers reserve the right to repair, replace, or deny a warranty claim at their discretion. We recommend consulting any pertinent warranty information supplied with your product or available from the manufacturer's web site prior to submitting a warranty request. If you have particular questions or concerns about a warranty claim, we recommend you contact the manufacturer in advance of requesting a Return Authorization number for warranty purposes, or contact us in advance of your return for advise.

Items Damaged in Transit:
While we take considerable steps when packaging your order to ensure its safe transit, we also take care to insure all shipments against any damage incurred during shipping. Please inspect all items carefully upon delivery. Any damages or defects must be noted immediately, and even defective items or those damaged in shipping are ineligible for return after 30 days. If your item is received in damaged condition, please contact us immediately, as a claim with our shipping provider must be made as soon as possible. Inspect the damaged item, but do not attempt to assemble or use it in any way. If you determine that your order has been damaged in shipping, it is critical that you do not proceed to use the product, as any product damage incurred due to the actions of a customer must necessarily supersede all warranty claims and will void eligibility for return. Please also preserve all packing materials and boxes to expedite the claim and replacement process. We will replace any item damaged in transit to you; in the event that the item damaged is determined to be unique and/or irreplaceable, you will be refunded for the product. In the event that a complete bicycle or other multi-part item (such as a wheelset) is received in damaged condition, Speedgoat will repair or replace any and all damaged elements of the multi-part item or replace the item completely, at our discretion; Speedgoat is responsible for all shipping fees associated with the return and replacement shipment of a damaged item, and when necessary a call tag will be issued, allowing you to return a damaged item at our expense or the expense of our shipping provider.

Speedgoat offers three types of bicycles:
  • Factory bikes - feature component kits specified by a manufacturer and offer outstanding value but are not eligible for customization or changes
  • Signature bikes - are created by Speedgoat to offer the absolute best components available at the absolute best price - because we leverage volume purchasing to offer these components at the best prices possible, Signature bikes are not eligible for customization or changes
  • Custom bikes - built to order just for you, Custom bikes offer discounted package pricing while allowing you full control over the component selection - custom build inquiries are always welcome

All bicycles are quality checked and assembled here at Speedgoat prior to shipping to you, and we do not offer drop-ship services or partial builds. Discounts applied to complete bicycles pertain specifically to complete bicycles, and discounts vary based on the components selected. Signature and Factory bikes often represent the most significant value, because the components used to build these bikes have been purchased in volume.

Build Time and Payment of Complete Bicycle Orders:
Lead times for the completion of complete bicycles vary based on the availability of specific components and our build volume at the time of the order. Processing of your bike order occurs when all components of your build are secured and scanned to begin your build. General information about lead times is available in our Lead Times of Items section. Order processing requires us to pay a credit card processing fee to our processor. For this reason, any cancellation of a processed order, regardless of the shipping status of the order, will incur a minimum 5% processing fee.

Assembly and Packaging of Your New Bicycle:
Before being shipped to you, all bicycles are fully assembled by Speedgoat, and your bike will arrive almost entirely assembled. Once completed, each bike must be partially disassembled to be boxed for shipping to you. Standard disassembly for shipping includes the removal of the handlebar from the stem, and removal of front wheel. Reassembly of your new bicycle will usually take less 15-minutes. Most bikes require the following:
  • Install handlebar into stem faceplate
  • Insert seatpost into bike (saddle is already installed onto seatpost and set level)
  • Inflate tires
  • Attach front wheel
