UPDATE: As of Tuesday, March 18th, 2014, I have reassumed official ownership of the Speedgoat.com domain name. What happens next is difficult to say, but chances are it'll be a hell of a lot better than what I've already gone through. Big thanks to everyone who's signed up below to be kept in the loop (can't believe how many of you still visit the old site!). Any announcements from here on out will be sent to each of you via email, so please feel free to sign up below if you're interested in more updates.
THE STORY: My name is Chris Currie. I'm the guy who started Speedgoat Bicycles. That was in 1997. I didn't know it at the time, but my goal was to build a bike shop that treated every rider with respect. Up until 2010, I built a lot of bikes, wrote a lot of code, and got to work with some outstanding people. I was also fortunate enough to do business with many of you, and for that I am and will always be grateful.
In 2010 I sold the business for about half the price of this bike. I hoped I could stay a part of the company and see it do bigger and better things. It didn't work out that way.
I don't know if I can resurrect Speedgoat at this point, but it never sat well with me to just see the site go silent and disappear after so much hard work from so many people and such good memories.
Which brings us here.
If you have an interest in seeing the site relaunch, or would just like to stay posted on any developments, please feel free leave me your email address. Anyone who remembers me knows I won't sell these, and I won't even bother any of you unless there's something worth reporting. If there's a next chapter to the Speedgoat story, those of you signed up here will be the first to know.
