Modbus RTU Client blocks enable communication between real-time target machines and external devices in power grids and automation plants, such as thermometers and protection relays. The driver blocks handle the data exchange between the connected Modbus RTU servers and the application running on the real-time target computer.
Modbus RTU Client is ideal for rapid control prototyping (RCP) of control stations, such as supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and programmable logic controllers (PLC). It also enables hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation using MATLAB® and Simulink for testing remote servers, such as motor drives, sensors, and intelligent electronic devices (IED).
Get started with Modbus RTU by adding the driver blocks to your Simulink model. No additional tools are required to get it running. Modus RTU is supported over the serial I/O modules (see Hardware Selection Guide).
