Compact test system with seamless MATLAB® & Simulink® workflow integration. Ideal for office, lab, field, and in-vehicle use
 intro

The Unit real-time target machine has a compact design with tens of I/O channels. It is ideal for rapid control prototyping (RCP) applications in the lab or the field, such as in vehicles, or as an embedded controller later in your development process. This test system can also be used for small-scale desk-based hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.

For a compact test system with more I/O modules, consider the Baseline real-time target machine. Choose the Mobile real-time target machine for complex RCP applications in the field. Consider Performance real-time target machine as the high-performance test system for the lab.

The Unit real-time target machine provides seamless Simulink® workflow integration, and supports MATLAB® R2021b and newer.

Capabilities

Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP)

  • Accelerate control design development by using the test system as a flexible prototype of your controller in R&D. Use the controller prototype for in-vehicle and small-scale lab/desktop applications. Later in your development process, leverage the test system as an embedded controller.

  • Connect the test system to your physical plant using the same I/O as your future embedded controller.

  • Use MATLAB® and Simulink® for your control designs and use Simulink® Real-Time™ to deploy the real-time application to the test system. Iterate through the designs and automate the testing process.

  • Evolve your control designs while keeping part of your controls running on the embedded controller using bypassing. The embedded controller remains part of the test setup while new features are executed on the real-time test system, all perfectly connected and synced.
